Terms of Service

The terms that apply when using Altura to find drone operators, submit enquiries, or list drone services.

These Terms of Service explain how Altura works as a marketplace and what customers and operators are responsible for when using it.

1. Who we are

Altura is a drone services marketplace.

2. Acceptance of terms

By using Altura, you agree to these Terms of Service.

If you do not agree to them, do not use the site or marketplace services.

3. Marketplace role

Altura is the marketplace layer. It helps people find each other and manage enquiries, but it does not replace the operator providing the work.

Altura helps connect customers with drone operators.
Altura is not the drone operator unless we explicitly say otherwise for a specific service.
Operators are responsible for their own services, pricing, compliance, communication, and delivery.
Customers and operators are responsible for agreeing job scope, timing, pricing, deliverables, and any other commercial details between themselves.

4. Customer and enquirer responsibilities

Customers and enquirers are responsible for the requests they send through the marketplace.

Provide accurate and complete enquiry information.
Make sure you have permission to request work at the relevant property, event, or location.
Do not submit unlawful, misleading, abusive, or spam enquiries.
Make your own judgement before hiring an operator and confirm the operator is right for your needs.

5. Operator responsibilities

Operators are responsible for the truthfulness of their listings and for the services they deliver.

Provide accurate listing, profile, portfolio, and contact information.
Hold any required licences, certifications, permissions, insurance, or approvals for the services you offer.
Comply with aviation, privacy, property, health and safety, and local rules that apply to your work.
Communicate professionally with customers.
Do not misrepresent your experience, pricing, availability, qualifications, or compliance status.

6. Drone operations disclaimer

Drone work often depends on conditions and legal limits outside the marketplace itself.

Drone work may be affected by Civil Aviation Authority rules, local restrictions, property permissions, weather, airspace, privacy obligations, and safety requirements.
Operators are responsible for deciding whether a job can be carried out legally and safely.
Customers should not assume a flight or job is approved, safe, or possible until the operator confirms it.

7. Enquiries and communications

Messaging tools are provided to help the marketplace function, but response times and outcomes depend on the users involved.

Altura may facilitate enquiries or messages between customers and operators.
Altura does not guarantee that an operator will respond to an enquiry.
Altura may monitor or access communications for support, moderation, safety, fraud prevention, and platform operation.

8. Payments

During the launch phase, payments are arranged directly between the customer and the operator unless we clearly say otherwise.

Altura does not process payment, hold funds, issue receipts, manage refunds, or reverse direct payments during the launch phase.

Altura is not responsible for off-platform payment disputes or operator delivery disputes except where the law requires otherwise.

If platform payment features are introduced later, these terms may be updated to reflect that.

9. Support and marketplace review

Altura may review marketplace records, enquiry threads, quote summaries, listings, profiles, and support reports where appropriate.

Repeated concerns may affect operator approval, marketplace visibility, or continued participation.

Altura does not run formal dispute resolution during launch and does not adjudicate direct payment or refund disputes as a payment platform.

10. Accounts and security

Account security is part of safe marketplace use.

Users must provide accurate information when creating or using an account.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
Do not share your account with someone else or use another person's account without permission.

11. Prohibited use

You must not misuse Altura or use it in a way that puts people, property, or the platform at risk.

Unlawful activity.
Spam, scams, fake listings, or fake enquiries.
Scraping, automated misuse, or attempts to bypass marketplace controls.
Trying to interfere with security, accounts, or platform integrity.
Uploading malicious, harmful, or infringing content.
Harassment, abuse, or discriminatory content or conduct.
Using the platform to arrange unsafe or unlawful drone work.

12. Content

Content stays with the user who provides it, but you allow Altura to use it to operate the marketplace.

Users are responsible for the content they submit to Altura.
Operators give Altura permission to display listing, profile, and portfolio content for marketplace purposes.
You must have the rights needed to upload, publish, or share any content you provide.
Altura may remove content that breaches these terms or harms the marketplace.

13. Availability and changes

Altura may change features, pause parts of the service, or be temporarily unavailable from time to time.

We may update or improve the marketplace over time, including its workflows, design, and available tools.

14. Disclaimers

Altura is provided on an "as available" basis.

We do not guarantee job outcomes, operator quality, availability, pricing, or the legal compliance of any specific operator.

Nothing in these terms limits rights or protections that cannot be excluded under New Zealand law.

15. Liability

To the extent allowed by law, Altura is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from use of the marketplace.

Where Altura is responsible under law, our liability is limited to the amount reasonably connected to the relevant claim and the extent the law allows.

These limits do not exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded under New Zealand law, including consumer protections that apply.

16. Suspension and removal

Altura may suspend accounts, remove listings, or block access where we reasonably believe there is misuse, a safety concern, inaccurate information, or a breach of these terms.

17. Privacy

Our handling of personal information is explained in the Privacy Policy.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time.

Continued use of Altura after an update means you accept the revised terms.

19. Governing law

These terms are governed by New Zealand law.
